What’s interesting about my parents is that the frugality that was necessitated in them when they were students with three (3) kids and even after they had a much higher income and we’re still really cheap and I really looked down upon them; but my dad after 20 years said “I’m done, I quit, I retire.”
He could do that because they were so cheap and so frugal that they had saved enough that they could just retire whenever they wanted.
The reason why my parents were just cheapskate is because they saved their money so that they could control their time and have full independence and autonomy the moment they wanted to quit.
